Current energy codes are continually getting tougher to meet. One of the codes where this is most apparent is the air infiltration code. In Utah the current code for single family homes is 3.5 ACH, for multifamily units, this code is 5 ACH. We specialize in meeting this code in both single family and multifamily structures. We use the Aerobarrier system among other methods to meet these codes. Let us help you meet these difficult codes as painlessly as possible.

Aerobarrier Envelope Sealing System
Aerobarrier is the most innovative product to enter the home performance industry since Aeroseal. Developed using the same method of sealing holes with and aerosol based sealant, Air sealing with Aerobarrer takes the guesswork out of envelope sealing. Allowing builders to easily and painlessly meet even the most stringent energy efficiency codes such as: Energy Star 3.0, Net Zero Energy Ready and even Passive House Certifications. The best part of this method, is the guarantee that we will pass and having the certificate in hand at the time of sealing! No more wondering if the work you did at rough is enough to pass at final.

Inspection
The first thing we do when sealing a home is go through the entire home after four way trades are done, and seal up any penetrations from conditioned to unconditioned space. At this stage we will also seal the back of any electrical boxes in order to eliminate air leakage around electrical wires.
This is the heart of our air sealing system! After the penetrations and electrical boxes have been sealed, we install a drywall gasket on the face of studs in order to create an airtight barrier when the drywall is installed. This is installed on the bottom plate, the top plate and around rough openings.
When we have completed the penetration sealing and drywall gasket, we will then inspect the home to make sure we have a complete and continuous air barrier with redundancies wherever possible. At this time we will also spray foam any problem areas or areas of leakage that may become problems in the future.
