Blower Door Testing
The blower door, sometimes called air leakage test, tests the total leakage of the home under pressure. This test has been implemented in Utah to make homes more comfortable and energy efficient. Unfortunately, this can be a difficult code to hit, we provide testing, consultation and solutions for the contractor. We have tested and sealed hundreds of homes and multifamily units, so we know what it takes to pass this code. Let us help you make your project run smoothly.
Current Utah code requires single family homes to leak 3.5 ACH50 (air changes per hour at 50 pascals). This is how many times the volume of air inside the house is exchanged with the outside of the house.
Multifamily units are required by new Utah code to meet 5 ACH50 or less. Multifamily structures are by far the most difficult to pass. Firewalls and other characteristics of condos and townhomes make this infiltration requirement complex to address. We have completed many projects both on the testing side and the sealing side, so we know how to make these buildings pass. |
