New energy codes are requiring duct blaster and blower door testing at different stages of the construction process. Airlock Home Energy can provide that required testing for you.
Duct Leakage Testing / Duct Blaster Testing
A duct blaster test will identify the amount of leakage that the duct work. This is an important part of making sure that the home will meet the requirements of the energy code you are working under. This test is usually done at the rough in period to insure that your ducts are tight enough. Even if you cannot get the duct work tight enough, the ducts can be sealed even after drywall with our Aeroseal Duct Sealing.
Blower Door Testing
The blower door test identifies the leakage to the outside in a home. This test is typically done before final, but after all other major work has been done. Remedies for a failing blower door test include sealing intrusions from the attic into the living space, sealing around can lights and weatherstripping.
